By nature of Final Fantasy, there are a lot of fighters coming in (and probably assassins), who would like to write threads involving fighting, and that sort of roleplay has consequences. Most of the time, that’s going to be injuries, taken care of with rest or a trip to a healer. However, if both muns consent to it, you are allowed to write temporary character death. (Please note: permanent character death is not allowed; if you don’t want to play a character anymore, just drop them.)
So how does this work?
If BOTH muns consent, you may roleplay a character dying - perhaps in battle, perhaps from assassination, not from old age or terminal illness - and at this point you have several options.
Within the first day (of roleplay time, not literal):
- a Phoenix Down may be used immediately
- a Potion of Resurrection may be used within 1 hour
- a skilled/powerful enough doctor/healer or priest(ess) may be able to revive you within 12 hours
- anyone with the bound item "Breath of Aster" can revive you within 24 hours
After the first day, however, things become more complicated. Your muse’s spirit moves on to the Death Realm and must find its way back. This can also be handled multiple ways.
- if you are a priest(ess) or other devoted patron of one of the pantheon, you may write a 200 word (minimum) appeal to your god to be saved from Hades. Enter the rolls t!choose saved | indebted | indebted into the Discord minigame server to determine whether or not you will have to pay a debt to the god(dess). You may remove one "indebted" if you are a member of a dedicated guild, and add "blessed" if you are a member of both a house and guild dedicated to your patron. If you receive either "indebted" or “blessed” inform the mods and you will be given instructions.
- IF YOU ARE A MEMBER OF: Hades, Aster or Diabolos’ houses and you wish to appeal to be saved, submit your 200 word (minimum) ficlet to the appropriate house blog with a link to the thread where you died. Please make note of any guilds as well. You will receive a response playing out the result, and any blessings or price you may need to pay.
- If you don’t qualify for either of the above, you may submit a 200 word (minimum) ficlet to on this board explaining how your character either bargains with/bribes Hades or attempts to fight him. Make note of your House and any special items/blessings you may have. There may be consequences, depending on what you choose, so choose wisely.
Obviously, there may be steep prices for character death, as it is entirely a roleplay option a mun consents to as opposed to something that is out of your hands. Be sure you’re willing to pay the price.
