Veld settled into his office, considering the requests and reports he had to process. A fair bit, as one might expect, but he had something else on his mind.
They were getting new blood into Casdema, and while most of it appeared mundane, he was... worried was too strong a word, but concerned wasn't out of place. He liked to know what was going on, and who was doing whatever was going on. That had always been his nature, and probably always would be. He didn't mind it - it made him damn good at his job - except when there was information yet to get that he didn't have. And while it might raise a few brows if he went around trying to be casual about checking people out... he had just the person in mind who would be able to handle the job.
Nodding decisively, he went to find where Tory had gotten to.

Tory was in their office, going over some ledgers.
"Sir," Tory looked up and closed the ledger as Veld came in. "What can I do for you?"

Veld smiled faintly, crooking a finger to beckon them back to his office. "Come with me. I've got some... business, I'd like to discuss with you. An assignment."
He waited for them to follow into the office, waited for the door to be closed, before going back to his desk. "As you know, we've gotten some new blood in the city. Some very interesting people, in fact... but their files are incomplete."
He smiled, knowing they would know where this was going. "I want you to meet these people. Take their measure. Come up with whatever excuse you need - be honest if it seems proper, that you're the... welcoming committee, from the Network. Offer our services, if you like. Never hurts."

Tory stood at parade rest, listening quietly as Veld outlined their assignment.
"I see, Sir. I'll get on it immediately."

"Good. Come back to me if you need any supplies or additional information," Veld said. He didn't have much, unfortunately. "I'll give you what backup I can."
